 Paul {Chris} Cowan grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico, worked as a mineralogist collecting, selling, wholesale mineral specimens most of his adult life. His repertoire includes construction foreman, antique expert, and others. His introduction to the art world started with mineral labels, calligraphy, and small drawings on the labels. He was the first person to incorporate small drawings and calligraphy in the labels. These have become quite collectable. It started his passion for drawings, pen and ink with colored pencils.

In the past couple of years, he has been heavily influenced by NM landscapes, Navajo Native Americans, and UFO's. His latest works are influenced by seascapes, forest scenes, jungle scenes and other natural habitats. His work depicts the natural world with mythical and magical influences.

Cowan's works are in several galleries, major collections and private collections. His personal collection includes Brian Cobble, John DeMarco, and other influential artists. His passion for art is a major influence in his life. 

His love and energy will continue to inspire and motivate his passion for art.
